getting started with cbd oil
CBD Oils and Tinctures
Tinctures and Oils are a common “carrier” to deliver CBD into the body. Certain carrier oils have specific benefits which is why CBD products are typically suspended in either MCT, Coconut, Grapeseed or Pure Hemp Seed Oil. While there are many benefits to Hemp Seed Oil there is NO CBD in pure Hemp Seed oil. Click the arrows below for more info on each type of oil.
Grape Seed Oils are high in polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), mostly omega-6 fatty acids and have a slightly sweet flavor. According to the American Heart Association, PUFAs may be beneficial to your heart if they're used in place of saturated fats and trans fats in your diet.
Research shows that PUFAS may reduce cholesterol and your risk of heart disease. But there's a catch: Optimal health depends on the proper balance of omega-6 fatty acids and omega-3 fatty acids in your body. Most people get more than enough omega-6 fatty acids in their diet and not nearly enough omega-3s.
Recent studies show that too much omega-6 fatty acid may cause inflammation that may lead to chronic issues so keep all your fatty acids at moderate levels. 8 glasses of water a day is good for you but 8 gallons will eventually kill you. Balance in all things.
Coconut Oil or MCT Oil contain natural saturated fats that increase the good HDL cholesterol in your body with little to no flavor.
To date, there are over 1,500 studies showing coconut oil to be one of the healthiest foods in moderation. This fat composition makes it one of the most beneficial fats. MCTs refers to medium-chain triglycerides that sit in the middle of the other two types of fats. They are of medium length and made up of 6 to 12 carbon atoms.
MCTs are found in coconut oil and are processed by the body in a different way than long-chain fatty acids and help deliver nutrients throughout the body.
Broad Spectrum Hemp Oils. There are many ways to extract the oil. In some instances, the oil may be extracted using cheap chemical processes and solvents like butane or hexane. These chemicals can inhibit the function of your immune system, so we DO NOT recommend this.
Fortunately, there are cleaner and safer ways, like CO2 and other clean extraction processes (which all our labs utilize) to obtain the CBD molecule (and other Cannabinoids) from the HEMP plant. Additionally, while in the lab the small left-over amount of THC is removed.
Because the BROAD SPECTRUM products contain all the raw plant material they will be Earthy and Hempy in flavor. They will be dark in color and primarily contain a majority of CBD ( Cannabidiol ) along with a low % of other Cannabinoids such as CBDV, CBDVa, and CBC which all have similar modulatory effects on the Immune System.
CAUTION: If you don’t want an earthy nutty flavor stay away from Hemp Oil as it does have a flavor.
FULL SPECTRUM OILS contain some THC while BROAD SPECTRUM OILS do not contain any THC.
